Hatch – the East Midlands’ premier roving performance platform – continue their collaboration with Attenborough Arts Centre for Hatch: Blood, Sweat & Tears, bringing together a special selection of the most exciting artists and performers from Leicester, the East Midlands, and across the country.
We are currently seeking submissions for performance work in any style or genre which responds to the idea of ‘Blood, Sweat and Tears’:
Performances will be presented from 5pm onwards on Sunday 11 October in and around Attenborough Arts Centre in Leicester.
There is a fee of £250 for each selected performance.
For an application form (or if you have any queries) send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Deadline for submissions is 5pm on Monday 28 September. Successful applicants will be notified on Monday 28 or Tuesday 29 September.
From brand new works in progress to barnstorming contemporary masterpieces, we are looking for work that comes at you with an open heart and moves you right out of your seat. Endurance, struggle, joy, sorrow, life and death are all up for grabs in an unmissable, unforgettable evening of live events.
We are especially interested in performance work which falls between disciplines or is hard to define, work which is still in progress or otherwise ‘unfinished’, and work which can connect directly with audiences without the use of a fourth wall. Attenborough Arts is one of only two purpose-built spaces in the East Midlands for the promotion of arts and disability and we particularly welcome proposals from Deaf or disabled artists.
Because of the nature of the venue and the event, performances which are suited for flexible spaces and which are mainly technically self-contained will work best (it won’t be possible to accommodate complicated lighting designs for example), but all proposals will be considered on the merits of their ideas and our potential ability to present your work in the best possible way. If you want to know whether something specific will be possible before submitting your application, please ask!
We look forward to hearing from you.
